61. Go to a football match or other sporting event with M.

I've never really made an effort to enjoy one of Marks obsessions with him, his love of motor sports. He will happily spend hours watching the Grand Prix, Formula Racing and bike racing. I sometimes feel a little bad about this as he's been to craft fairs with me, even though they bore him silly. I'm not a petrol head at all, but when I saw tickets on offer on Freecycle for the British International Series Formula 3 Racing at Thruxton Sunday 26th August I knew I had to go for it for him. The person had won them in a radio competition but was unable to use them in the end so she kindly offered them up on Freecycle. They were VIP Tickets which included:
"Entry to the Paddock Area
Access to the Race Centre
Breakfast Baps on arrival (9.15-10am)
3 Course Hot & Cold Buffet Lunch and Open Bar (Table reserved for 1.30pm)
Afternoon Tea (3.30-4.30pm)
Access/Participation in the Press Conferences
Grid Walk Access (Children not allowed on the Grid Walk)
Once you arrive and sign in you will also receive a Gift and Programme"
Now, I'm particularly a sports fan, I'm a participator, not a spectator and I'm quite often bored with televised sports. M on the other hand is a BIG sports fan and as a petrol head too, motor sports come high on his agenda. He loves motor racing and bike racing. I showed him the listing (about 10.30 last night) and we got the tickets. We had to get up real early this morning to go and get the tickets. Then we drove to Thruxton which is about an hour and a half away.
M had a fab day. He really really enjoyed himself. He said it was like a dream come true. We got free booze, free grub, gifts (cap, pen and programme), we got to mingle in the paddock with the drivers and crew, we had entrance to the grandstand, we got to do the grid walk (yeah, I didn't know what that was either) where we got to go onto the track as the cars lined up and waited for the start of the race. We had to go before the race started of course, but the atmosphere was electric.
The weather was scorching hot, it wasn't too packed, we saw a couple of crashes (aren't humans awful, we all wanted to see smithereens *lol*) - it was a great day out.

I have tons of photos but I just picked out a few to show you! He had a fab day out!
