87. Sample a new foreign dish. COMPLETED 20.03.08

I made a Madras vegetable curry with pilaf rice. I don't consider myself to be a curry lover, in fact I would normally turn it down, but some students wanted to make it, so I thought I'd make mine alongside them and give it a try. It had sweet potato, aubergine, spinach, onion, pepper, garlic, all fried together with madras spices, and coriander. Then we added tomato puree, chopped tomatoes and yogurt. We also made pilaf rice, which is fried with a little oil and onion, then stock is added with tumeric and it's baked in the oven. And I didn't hate it. I didn't manage to get a photo though, sorry.
